Drents Museum: Presentation Study

Het Drents Museum

A story for all

Museum exhibitions use language, images and sometimes even sound. The goal of these tools is to bring the story to life. If a museum does this effectively and consistently, it creates a recognisable, meaningful and enjoyable visitor experience. The Drents Museum in Assen has a wide range of exhibitions and unique objects on display. The museum is curious to learn how it currently uses and can best use these items to convey knowledge and emotions more effectively to visitors.

Studio Louter investigated the visitor experience at the Drents Museum by observing the current museum tools and objects in the presentations. The study aims to map out the visitor experience in the museum by way of the stories and emotions conveyed and determine whether or not the tools and objects achieve their goal. These findings are used by Studio Louter to draw up recommendations.
