Rijksmuseum van Oudheden: panorama projections about Carthage
A tour through the famous city of the ancient world
Carthage; founded by the Phoenicians, conquered by the Romans and at one point the third-largest city of the Roman Empire. With over three hundred objects and top pieces from international museums, the riches and history of Carthage is displayed in the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities.
For this exposition, Studio Louter produced two film projections about the Punic and Roman Carthage. Wall-spanning panoramas of up to six metres across will take you to the most important places in the city. What did the city look like? What made this ancient city so special? And what remains of the city today? We also made a short film about the mystical princess of Carthage: Salammbô. Visit the exhibition and get to know Carthage.
