Rogier van der Weyden unveiled

The fifteenth-century painting the Lamentation of Christ was restored publicly in the Mauritshuis. This masterpiece of the Flemish painter Rogier van der Weyden is the oldest painting in the collection.

Together with the Mauritshuis, Studio Louter created the exhibition’s concept and storyline. The painting’s beauty and the exceptional skills of Rogier van der Weyden are shown to the visitor.

A life-size interactive touchscreen makes it possible to get to know the painting down to the smallest detail. Studio Louter also made the background information screens and a film in which the restorers tell about their great work.

Muse Design Awards rewarded the exhibition with a platinum award in the category Interior Design for Exhibits, Pavilions, & Exhibitions 2019.
