Nationaal Archief: Up-to-date

Nationaal Archief - Update interactieve wereldkaart

Dusting off the archives

The exhibition ‘The Memory Palace’ organised by the National Archives of the Netherlands and developed by Studio Louter in 2013 is a enchanting world built from archive boxes. In the heart of the exhibition is a large-scale data visualisation that presents the archives as a fully interactive world. This unique data visualisation provides a wealth of information about the archives and its users.

But the National Archives also needs to keep up with the times. To keep the archive documents up-to-date with new data, Studio Louter has added new favourites and stories to the interactive world map. An animation also visualises the new role of the National Archives and how it deals with today’s ‘digital-born’ documents.
