‘s Heeren Loo care group: virtual museum
History of care for people with an impairment
It is no more than a hundred years ago that disabled people were tucked away in back rooms and sheds. Today, people with a mental impairment can lead meaningful lives in society. This development, and the role care group ’s Heeren Loo played in it, is depicted in a virtual museum.
Fifteen symbolic rooms are occupied by ‘guides’, who in short interviews tell about the experiences of clients, parents and caregivers. In-depth information is provided by adding historical footage.
