Three centuries of Jewish history

Jewish Historical Museum, Amsterdam (NL), 2017

By around 1900, more than 100,000 Jews lived in the Netherlands. Where did they come from? Where did they live? And how did they earn a living?

An intimate view

A new permanent exhibition at the Jewish Historical Museum surveys Jewish history in the Netherlands from 1600 to 1900. Projections, audio and interactives offer an intimate look at the lives of Jews in the Netherlands down the centuries. Visitors discover how the country reacted to its Jewish newcomers and how they slowly but surely succeeded in making a place for themselves in society.
